Revit® MEP 2012 software - the BIM solution for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering and design.
Autodesk® Revit® MEP software for Building Information Modeling (BIM) supports mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers with integrated design, analysis, and documentation tools. Coordinated and consistent information inherent in the intelligent 3D Revit model supports more accurate design. Integrated analysis capabilities and support for complementary Autodesk and partner solutions help deliver efficient building systems designs. 3D visualizations and 2D documentation help communicate design intent. Documentation remains coordinated and consistent no matter how many iterations, and built-in interference detection features help reduce costs in the field. The intelligent 3D Revit model can be used for coordination across project teams using Autodesk® Revit® platform products to support consistency.
Revit MEP 2012 Features:
Point Clouds Revit Point Cloud tools connect laser scans directly into the Building Information Modeling process, helping to accelerate renovation and retrofit projects. By visualizing point clouds directly within the Revit MEP software environment, it is easier to author an as-built BIM with more confidence and accuracy.
Sloped Piping Sloped piping tools support enhanced productivity for piping design. Easily create pipe slope values and transfer from project to project for design efficiency. Easily define the rise overrun and lay out your plumbing design. Calculation is automatic and slope propagation is easier when you apply a slope to a run of multiple pipe selections through fittings. Tag invert elevations at the beginning or end of a pipe run, minimizing guesswork and manual calculations. Keep track of the current pipe elevation with dynamic on-screen tooltips while routing sloped piping. Easily connect between two points in space regardless of the slope required.
Duct and Pipe Placeholders Enhance design intent even from the earliest stages with placeholder objects for ducts and pipes. Use placeholders to determine location of duct or pipe runs prior to finalizing your designs. Easily convert placeholders to more detailed objects with fittings and size the run once design is finalized.
Duct and Pipe Insulation and Lining tools Using a single command, seamlessly add insulation to entire duct and pipe runs. For even greater detail, easily add lining to duct. Include important design details with a single command, and then perform interference checking on the insulation to help detect conflicts with other systems, or structural or architectural objects. Automatically adjust duct sizes when sizing ducts that include lining.
System Browser Enhancements Gain greater flexibility during design, and focus on the systems of importance to you with enhanced system browser feature. Select to view only the system you are working on. For example, view only the electrical systems and hide mechanical and plumbing systems from view. Check that elements are fully connected and contributing to system load requirements for more accurate sizing. See the total electrical load, air flow, or pipe flow at any point within a system.
Enhanced Systems Create and name custom duct and piping system types. Access properties for graphical overrides―such as color, line weight, and line patterns―to objects within a specific system. Assign objects to systems without needing to connect to system equipment. Annotate system geometry with a system abbreviation. Limit or turn off system calculations when not required.
Panel Schedules Work dynamically and experience greater flexibility by selecting to display panel schedule totals in current or load values. Merge multipoled slots into a single cell. Display load classification totals for individual circuits.
Conceptual Energy Analysis Conceptual Energy Analysis tools* support sustainable design decision making during early design. Using cloud-based analysis tools, you can compare the energy consumption and lifecycle costs of design alternatives within Revit MEP software. Analysis results are presented in a highly visual, graphical format for easy interpretation.
